Well I am very pleased to announce that the winter quarter is done for! I took Jake with me to the library on Wednesday (18th) to get out of the house and to pick up the books I had requested to have held. He did so great the whole time! he listened and didn't run away, the only problem I had is that he didn't want to hold my hand crossing the streets downtown, I explained to him that he had to stay in the crosswalk and although he wouldn't hold my hand he did walk right in front of me staying in the crosswalks :-).
The next morning I headed off to school and started reading the book Twilight, I had two tests that day, each of which took me about 20 mins to finish. so I had about 4 hours of slightly interrupted reading time :-) I finished twilight just before we got to the stop by my house. the next day and night I read the rest of the books, it's a really neat series.
Saturday morning (at about 6 am) I checked the school website to see if they posted grades yet and they DID! I got a B and a B+ which isn't wonderful but it's better than I thought I would do. my GPA is 3.25. not bad :) I have too keep a GPA of 2.0, if it goes under that for 2 quarters in a row I get kicked out of the program. so I'm glad that I passed this quarter and am already looking forward to next quarter!!
The kids are doing well, Caleb is having some toilet aversion, he keeps either peeing his pants or waiting until he gets his nighttime diaper on to go potty all at once. I am not sure how to fix this issue as night training is something I am not quite ready to do. I had hoped to wait until Jake was day trained before night training both of them at the same time. It looks like that may not be the way it goes as Caleb is apparently getting confused as to whether he is potty trained or not!
Jake is also doing..."well". He and Katie are having the same sort of issues I recall from when Caleb and Jacob were their ages. Katie wants everything Jake has, and Jake doesn't want to hurt her. So instead of holding onto his stuff he lets her take it and then SCREAMS. I am glad he's stopped smacking her for everything she does, but this squealing has got to stop. It grates on my nerves. It may be a cycle thing though...I know I'm much more irritable when AF is here. He is starting to be able to feel when he has to go, he will say "I'm poopy" or "I pee" I check immediately and nothing, a couple of minutes later though he'll have pooped or peed! He doesn't do it consistently although he does it enough that I'm considering trying to PT him this week instead of waiting until June. :-)
Kaitlyn is doing great now! She was having sooo many problems that I barely had time to do my homework and deal with her much less anything else. I discovered 2 things about my baby girl the past couple of weeks though. 1.) she does not do well when teething. certainly not when she's getting six teeth at once. I felt so bad for her :-( they have all broken the skin except the top right molar and that was really close when I checked yesterday afternoon. 2.) her love language is not touch like I thought, it turns out that her love language is attention. Now this may sound like a "well, DUH!" moment, it's not really. My kids are sooo close together that multitasking is a must in this house, even now I'm typing this update, keeping Jacob from breaking his neck and getting stuff that he shouldn't, helping Caleb with his game and also making a list (in order) of the chores I want to get to today. One thing I got really good at when Jake was small is being able to do nearly anything while carrying/holding/wearing a baby. Unfortunately that is not enough for her and the hour I spent playing with her wasn't enough for her to feel completely loved and happy and was causing a lot of tears on both sides, with me feeling completely DONE with all of them for the night and her feeling like mommy doesn't love her. However now she's so much happier, I now make time to play with her at least 3 times a day for at least half an hour, although usually she gets more :-)
The house is doing okay, I guess...the weather is helping that it's warming up although we need to fix the windows and the ceiling in the back room. I got it all cleaned out and found mold or mildew along the back wall undecar the leaky windows. there's also what I believe may be a small patch under the ceiling hole. We're going to have to pull up that carpet and have someone who knows what they are doing out to look at it and clean it out if possible. To further that end Roland is off today looking for a temp job. Hopefully he will make some soon and I can find out if the mold in the boys room is toxic or not. I am keeping an eye on the back room for it and if it comes back I'm going to call everyone I can find until I find someone that could work with me. We got their bunk beds up, we gave Jake the *top bunk* since it has rails but it turns out that there's no way to attach the other rail if they aren't stacked, so we have the open side pushed against the wall. they did really well last night. Katie was moved into the front bedroom, she doesn't have a new bed though! (yet)
I still have a lot to do by the 2nd, I need to go through our room and put the laundry where it goes, and then bring in all the stuff from the shed and go through IT. a lot of it is stuff we've been searching for and couldn't find. We also desperately need to recarpet the kids rooms and the living room. well that's all I have time for since I need to go switch the laundry and deal with the kids! So sorry I have been silent so long :-(
